If you are looking for a Non-Surgical way to relieve your symptoms of neck and back pain and improve your day-to-day life, Non-Surgical Decompression could be the answer for you.
When it comes to spinal issues; surgery, pain medications and injections are often recommended without exploring other options that may be less invasive and healthier overall for the patient. Carbondale Chiropractic Center offers a state-of-the-art non-surgical procedure known as Non-Surgical Spinal Decompression.
- Neck and Back Pain
- Headaches
- Pain that travels down your arms or legs
- Burning, Achy, Stabbing or Shooting pain that won’t go away
- Sciatica, Bulging, Protruding or Herniated Discs, Degenerative Disc Disease or Spinal Stenosis
- Numbness, Tingling or Weakness that extends down the arms or legs
- Restricted and inflamed spinal joints (called Posterior Facet Syndrome)
- Post-operative complications
- Pinched nerves, injured or diseased spinal nerve roots
- Muscle spasms
Non-Surgical Decompression Therapy improves healing and many times offers quick and effective pain relief. Most patients are able to return to a more active lifestyle. Patients can potentially avoid the risk of anesthesia, surgical complications, and opioid addiction. They may also avoid the possibility of failed back surgery.

Conditions That Benefit
Conditions that benefit from Cervical and Lumbar Decompression include:
- Herniated Discs
- Sciatica
- Spinal Arthritis
- Failed Surgery
- Bulging Discs
- Degenerative Disc
- Spinal Stenosis
- Facet Syndrome
- Radiculopathy
- Headaches
How Treatment Works
Decompression Therapy relieves pain, reduces inflammation of the spine, and restores spinal motion all while treating the underlying cause. Spinal Decompression Therapy creates negative pressures inside the herniated, bulging disc letting it retract naturally, thus relieving disc pressure on spinal nerves which usually relieves the pain. Reducing pressure in the disc also restores the natural transfer of surrounding fluids, nutrients, and oxygen into the disc, a process essential for disc health. Tears in the disc’s wall can now repair themselves while nutrients introduced back into the disc’s nucleus can reverse the disc’s degeneration and its collapse, and restore disc height which relieves pressure on inflamed spinal joints.
How Many Treatments?
Spinal Decompression Therapy is Clinically Proven
There have been several studies performed that demonstrate the effectiveness of Non-Surgical Spinal Decompression. As referenced by Gionis et al., “Results showed that 86% of the 219 patients who completed the therapy reported immediate resolution of symptoms, while 84% remained pain-free 90 days post-treatment. Physical examination findings showed improvement in 92% of the 219 patients, and remained intact in 89% of these patients 90 days after treatment.” Spinal Decompression Therapy has saved many people from spinal surgery and allowed them to return to their regular active lifestyle.
